Whether building a case on behalf of a client or a project in his workshop, Matthew Kennison uses the same precision and advanced planning to ensure the best possible outcome. Matt is a well-balanced, energetic, and dedicated team player. He thrives in stressful situations and enjoys cohesive team work. He knows how to anticipate what’s likely to happen next, act quickly, and change direction while navigating a case.
Matt focuses his practice on federal antitrust and complex commercial disputes, and has handled litigation for a diverse array of clients, ranging from large corporations to universities to nonprofit organizations. He has managed discovery, mediation, expert preparation, motion practice, and settlement negotiations. Matt has also been an integral member of multiple trial teams, and has drafted numerous appellate briefs at both the state and federal levels.
Prior to joining the legal profession, Matt served as a detective for the Long Beach Police Department, where he conducted criminal investigations into a wide range of felony crimes. The challenges experienced working as a police officer have enabled Matt to help his clients navigate through the most difficult of circumstances.
When not applying his considerable talents to helping clients, Matt can be found spending time with his wife and three young children doing all things Michigan, as well as playing ice hockey and woodworking.
