As a lawyer with over a quarter century of commercial practice, real estate, construction and financial services experience, and a published performance poet, lyricist and music aficionado, Cheryl Walker has a finely attuned ear for language – not just for the nuances of legal interpretation, but also for the art of persuasion. Cheryl employs this rare combination of attributes to develop creative but grounded strategic advice and counseling to all manner of business enterprises and real estate-related and financial services clients.

In her construction practice, Cheryl changes and/or preserves landscapes by working tirelessly with project owners, developers, construction managers, contractors and other purchasers and providers of design, engineering and construction services to construct, renovate and/or enhance built environments by drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements for construction transactions, including architectural, design/build and other construction delivery contracts.

Cheryl drafts and negotiates a wide range of commercial contracts that assist clients in achieving operational objectives, including purchase and supply agreements, consignment and bailment arrangements, and logistics contracts. She has documented procurement transactions for various categories of personal property from conventional (e.g., equipment, technology hardware and software, inventory) to unconventional (e.g., metric tons of metal, trees for national monument site, precious jewels, and a ferris wheel).

Cheryl’s financing background is varied and includes representing borrowers and financial institutions in connection with acquisition financing, working capital, and equipment leasing and financing. She particularly focuses on the creation, protection and enforcement of security interests under Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code. Cheryl also drafts and negotiates subordination and intercreditor agreements to govern competing rights in shared collateral.

Cheryl grew up in a musical family and loves all genres of music and poetry.
