Drahcir Smith Elected 2019-2020 BWLA Officer
RSHC is proud to announce that RSHC Employment Counsel Drahcir Marie Smith has been elected the 2019-2020 Corresponding Secretary for the Black Women Lawyers' Association of Greater Chicago, Inc. (BWLA). Drahcir served as a BWLA Board Member at Large for the 2018-2019 term. Congratulations to all of the new BWLA Officers and Board members!
In 1987, a founding group of about 20 young African-American lawyers, including Patricia Brown Holmes, started BWLA with the animating purpose to create a lasting organization to raise money and provide scholarships to young African-American women in law school. BWLA has become a preeminent place for young black lawyers to obtain invaluable mentoring and sponsorships and produce some of Chicago’s top civic leaders.
