Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila LLP (RSHC) announced the hiring of two new partners, Jeffrey W. Morof and Shalem A. Massey. Jeffrey W. Morof has spent his entire career defending aerospace clients and the aviation insurance market in product liability and commercial litigation matters, including serving as national counsel for two large aerospace manufacturers. Shalem A. Massey is a litigator with experience handling high-stakes and “bet the company” matters for businesses and insurers in the aerospace and technology industries.

Joseph J. O’Hara, Jr., former Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Secretary for a Fortune Global 500 company that is a leading manufacturer of packaging products, has joined the national law firm of Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila (RSHC) as Of Counsel in the Chicago office. He will focus on wide-ranging trial work and emphasize the representation of clients who have been wrongfully convicted and seek justice in the criminal and civil courts.

The Partners of Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila LLP are proud to announce that name partner Patricia Brown Holmes has been unanimously elected as the firm’s first managing partner. A former judge, top tier litigator, and nationally prominent advocate for law firm diversity, it is believed that Patricia is the first black woman to lead and have her name on the door of a major law firm that is not women- or minority-owned.

Jack Theis, former Special Assistant and Associate Counsel to President Obama, has joined the national law firm of Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila (RSHC). As a partner in the Chicago office, he will concentrate his practice on commercial litigation, white collar criminal defense, antitrust and competition law, and risk and reputation management.

RSHC has hired 11 new attorneys, including Joseph Q. McCoy, the former managing partner of the Chicago office of Bryan Cave LLP, and seven other Bryan Cave attorneys who bring significant business and transactional experience to the firm’s core strength in litigation. The firm has also hired new partner Gregory L. Curtner, formerly head of the antitrust and trade regulation and sports practices at Schiff Hardin LLP, together with a former Schiff Hardin associate, to join the rapidly growing firm. Greg is leading the antitrust and competition practice.
