First RSHC Verdict is Victory for Deere & Co.
Matt Fischer and Brian O’Connor Watson successfully defended Deere & Company against claims of negligence and strict product liability after a two week trial in Independence, Missouri. The plaintiff sought millions of dollars in compensatory damages as well as punitive damages. The jury returned a verdict for Deere on all counts. RSHC partners Holmes, Safer and Crowl participate in Women Lawyers in the Courtroom Symposium hosted by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois
The symposium, held in April 2016 at the Everett McKinley Dirksen U.S. Courthouse in Chicago, examined and outlined strategies and best practices for empowering women lawyers as lead counsel and trial counsel in litigation. Three Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila attorneys to receive Excellence in Pro Bono Awards on May 25th in Chicago
Tal Chaiken, James Gaughan and Eli Litoff have been selected by the United States District Court and the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association to receive Awards for Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service for their work on behalf of Byron E.
